What are the benefits of an insulated garage door?
A garage door opening represents a large opening in your home’s thermal barrier. Insulated garage doors will help to reduce the amount of outside temperatures that enter your garage, thus reducing the amount of energy required to cool or heat your home. Insulated garage doors also reduce noise from the exterior of your home.
What maintenance is suggested for my garage door or overhead door?
While we suggest a professional undertake any major garage door repairs, there are some steps you can take to maintain your garage door. These steps include:

  • Periodically lubricate your garage door or overhead door hardware. Call us to determine the best methods for lubricating your specific garage door.
  • Clean the frame’s weather stripping with vinyl cleaner and lubricate it once every other month with an appropriate product to keep the stripping pliable.
  • Inspect the rollers every six months and replace any that are worn or broken, or call us and have us replace them.
  • If you have a painted garage door, periodically paint the exterior to help protect it from the elements.
How do I program my remote control?
  • Locate the LEARN button on the overhead garage door opener. The button may be green, red, orange, purple, or blue and will have an LED indicator light near the button. You can find the LEARN button on the rear side or right side of the overhead garage door opener. You may need to remove a light bulb cover or control cover to access the button.
  • Press and release the LEARN button. A small indicator light will glow steadily.
  • Within 30 seconds, press and hold the button you wish to use on your remote control. When programming is successful the main light bulb(s) in the overhead garage door opener will flash, and two “clicks” will be heard.
  • Release the button on the remote control, and press it again to test. The garage door opener should operate when pressed.
